The team at Sunrise Boulevard Animal Hospital understands just how hard the last year has been on us all. Veterinary hospitals across the country have experienced unprecedented appointment requests. This combined with new Covid-19 protocols (like curbside service) and trying to avoid employee burnout means that your typical veterinary visit seems to take much longer than before.

We want to explain a bit more about our current appointment process to help simplify your next visit so your pets can get the care they need when they need it.

Curbside Service for Appointments 

Like most veterinary hospitals, we are still practicing curbside service for our veterinary visits. If you make an appointment, you can expect the following process:

  • Call us at (916) 726-2334 when you arrive to get checked in. A technician will take your pet’s history over the phone and bring your pet inside the hospital
  • The doctor will call you during the exam to update you on your pet’s health and discuss any further attention your pet might need
  • Once the visit is complete, a member of the team will reach out to you to handle your payment, and we will bring your pet back out to you along with any items or instructions you will need to bring home. 

We are happy to offer water bottles to make this wait time more convenient. Please let us know if you need some water at any time during your pet’s visit.

Drop-Off Service for Urgent Care

We are currently offering a drop-off service for urgent care cases that allow our customers to drop their pets off for their appointments and return to pick them up when the visit is complete. Our team will still call you during the visit to let you know your pet’s condition and discuss any next steps with you. 

We Have Appointments Available for Urgent Care

Many pet owners are struggling to find veterinarians with available urgent care appointments, which adds even more stress when you are worried about your pet. We want to let you know that we have plenty of urgent care appointments. We can often get clients in within the next day or two and have a doctor designated to handle same-day urgent and emergency appointments. 

Please note that although we will be able to get you in quickly, we might not be able to get you an appointment with your usual doctor. But have no fear, our entire staff is very capable of offering your pet top-level care.

Canceling Appointments

We understand that sometimes other situations arise that may prevent you from making your scheduled appointment. If you have to cancel your appointment, we ask that you give us a call to let us know you cannot make it so we can set that time aside for another pet in need of veterinary care.
